Storm - Nordavind (1995)

Storm have three non-album tracks released exclusively on the "Crusade from the North" compilation (1996): "Oppunder Skrent Og Villmark", "Noregsgard" (remix) and "Mellom Bakkar Og Berg" (rehearsal).

On the album 'Nordavind', Storm plays metallized versions of traditional Norwegian folk songs.

The lyrics from the first paragraph of the song Nagellstev, are the same as the words said by "The Girl" in Ulver's song "Capitel II - Soelen Gaaer bag Aase Need" from the Bergtatt album, minus the archaic way of writing.

Summoning - Oath Bound (2006)

Summoning's first song with programmed drums (recorded in the Spring of 1995) was featured exclusively on the 1995 Napalm Records compilation CD "With Us or Against Us".

Michael Gregor and Mike Gröger (Raventhrone, Hollenthon) are not the same person!

Summoning was part of the Austrian Black Metal Syndicate, along with Pervertum, Trifixion, Pazuzu, Golden Dawn and Abigor.

Ensiferum - From Afar (2009)

Ensiferum means "Sword Bearer". 'Ensis' is a third declension noun meaning Sword, and 'Ferum' is from an irregular verb meaning "to carry" (like "ferry"). Markus Toivonen found the word in a Latin dictionary when the band were starting out and decided it was an ideal name.

Ensiferum were founded as a three-piece by Markus Toivonen, Sauli Savolainen and Kimmo Miettinen. They began mostly as a cover band before persuading Jari Mäenpää to join as vocalist and second guitarist a year later.

Frontman Jari Mäenpää quit in 2004 after creating his own project, Wintersun. Studio time for Wintersun recordings clashed with an Ensiferum tour, so Mäenpää quit Ensiferum. Petri Lindroos of Norther was brought in, inititally to cover for live dates, and eventually agreed to join permanently. At this point the band's vocal duties were split as Lindroos performed only the harsh singing while Markus Toivonen and Sami Hinkka took over the clean vocals. Toivonen is now the only founding member left in the band.

Markus Toivonen never played in Scent of Flesh - there are two different persons with the same name.

Petri Lindroos was forced to miss a few tour dates in November 2008 due to illness. Former bassist Jukka-Pekka Miettinen filled in as guitarist while Sami Hinkka took up harsh vocal duties.

Graveland - Thousand Swords (1995)

The original tape version of Thousand Swords is on Darken's own label Isengard Productions (1995). It uses the first version of the cover and includes a short rant against Lethal Recs in the insert.
Recorded at Tuba Studio, Wroclaw in the days of eternal winter & frozen night of full moon (December 1994), at the gates of a new era. Engineered and mixed by Graveland and Grezegorz Czachor.

Lyrics and music by Darken, intro by Karcharoth.
Graveland's style has changed from raw black metal on the early albums to a more epic sound which is inspired by Hammerheart-era Bathory. Lyrically, on the early works Rob Darken was inspired by Celtic beliefs, now he's Wotanism-orientated and calls his music "epic pagan metal".
 Karcharoth R.I.P. - Commited suicide due to mental problems. Jumped from a tower in Wrocław.

Vintersorg - Till Fjälls (1998)

Released in 2003 by Irond as as split with the Hedniskhjärtad EP

  Vintersorg means "Winter Sorrow", but the name was taken from the Isfolket series by Margit Sandemo, where the character Vintersorg is the son of a great pagan leader.
  In Vintersorg's first three albums, Vargher (Marcus E. Norman) - from Havayoth, Naglfar, and Ancient Wisdom - was responsible for programming the drums. According to an interview, Vintersorg used to sing the drum lines to him, and Vargher transcribed them. In Cosmic Genesis, Vintersorg programmed the drums by himself.
  Formed under the name Vargatron, which means Wolfthrone. The band split-up in Summer '96, and was later resurrected under the name Vintersorg as a one-man band.
  Vintersorg was a solo project of Andreas Hedlund until the release of Cosmic Genesis. After Mattias Marklund joined the band as a full member, Vintersorg became a duo (referred to as The Vintersorgs).
